Simple & Unique World Sounds. The Mandolele – Mandolin & Ukulele VST will help you get the ethnic feel you’re looking for!
Mandolele is a Sampled Mandolin & Ukulele Instrument containing 1 Mandolin & 1 Ukulele. Each Instrument was recorded twice, once with a Guitar Pick & once with just a Finger. This gives us 4 totally different Tones. We then blend the 4 Mandolin & Ukulele Tones together to bring you some Unique Combinations!
With Mandolele’s light & easy-to-use interface, you will have no problems finding a preset or creating your own sounds altogether. With streamlining your productions in mind, we kept everything, well, simple! Minimal FX allows you to use the FX you’re already familiar with (let’s face it, we all do anyway), quickly have full control over each Banjo & easily browse presets!
The interface has 3 main sections:
Top: FX In-Depth Adjustments + Preset Browser
Here you will find all of your FX Parameters + your Preset Browser. Easily browse, adjust & tweak your sounds in this section.
Middle: Sampler Adjustments
This section contains the Sampler Engines for your Mandolin & Ukulele Instruments. Quickly edit your samples to create the sound you’re looking for.
Bottom: FX Quick Adjustments
Linked to the FX with the same name in TOP Section, these are an even faster way to add FX & get an idea of your sound.

With a quick, easy & painless install (thanks to our easy to follow Install Guide), you will be creating something fresh in no time! Let’s all try to create something new, something original, something SPECIAL. We hope Mandolele can help you accomplish this!
Overall: A nice, different addition to your sound library. Ukelele and Mandolin, both played with finger and pick. Good for chords and single note runs. I wouldn’t use as a solo instrument but it sounds very good in a mix with others.
Pros:
Good sounds and sound combinations
Easy to understand, quick to set up
Nice preset management
“Waves” effect is like tremelo and fits the sounds well depending on what you want.
Resizeable interface.
Flexible: I was able to get close to a banjo sound by choosing Basic Mandolin 1, setting Waves as slow as it goes, setting Artifacts Q very low, lowering release time on the Mandolin sound.
Be sure to try full range of notes, bass notes sound great even if not like a real instrument!
Cons:
Not responsive to velocity, so a given note will always be the same volume.
Notes with higher pitch are also louder, easy to get distortion. You need set the gain for the range of notes you want to play.
Other:
Master Gain is saved with presets so it gets reset any time you switch to a different preset. This can be good or bad! My preference in any plugin is that all the presets should be close to the same apparent volume level, and master gain should be set once to balance the plugin with others in your DAW. The mixer in your DAW is then used to balance individual tracks for the sound you want.
Wishlist: at least 4 or 5 samples for each note, and one is selected at random each time the note is played. Repeat this for 5 or 8 velocity ranges, or at least add velocity capability to what’s already here. I know that takes away from the Simple = Fun aspect of creating plugins like Mandolele, but it makes them usable in a wider range of applications.
The interface is different, and the sound is definitely different!
